OPERATION OF THE GROUP

Within the group every new member starts at the bottom as a private, he wil need to prove his knowledge of what he re-enacts by a very simple test, new members wil take this test the first event of the season he takes part of. The test has a few questions about the Vietnam conflict itself and if you choose to re-enact something more specific there will be questions about that too, this is to be sure you can anwser asked questions at public events. In time, after that new member has attended some gatherings, he can, if he wishes, be promoted. If someone wishes to be promoted, and there is a place available, to non-commisioned officer he will need to do another simple thereotical test regarding the new rank he re-enacts. This is done to see if the candidate's knowledge is enough to answer questions about his rank during public events. The same happens to get promoted to the officer ranks, but in addition to the theoretical test there is a practical test in the field too. The candidate officer needs to prove his capability to lead his outfit in the field during skirmishes with BB-guns.

Women in combination with the period of history we are portraying do form a small problem. Since women were not allowed to carry weapons during the Vietnam Conflict there are but few possibilities. But we don't want to discriminate women and therefor we need to step a little beside the goal to be as authentic as possible. In spite of the fact that nurses were never in the field, do we allow them to be part of the company. Of course it is a worn-out phrase that women are nurses. There are lots of other parts women can play. It would be nice if there are women who can sing a little and can act as artists and perform to boost the moral of the troops (and add more fun in our group). These are only five possibilities of parts that women can portray: nurse, donut dolly, preformer, reporter/photografer and playbunny. If you, as a woman, have any new idea on a role you want to potray, feel free to contact us. If possible, send us the source where you found your information.
